So for whatever reason, last night I got "Love is Stronger than Death" from The The's Dusk in my head—I don't know, maybe it was a dream, or something—so tonight, I just had to rip the CD. I forgot how much I loved this album! I hadn't listened to it in a year or two. So fantastic!
But so the funny thing is that I use Clutter to automatically add album art to the albums I rip into iTunes. And Clutter, in turn, uses Amazon's web services API to search for the proper cover art to display. But of course, "the the dusk" doesn't provide a very good set of query terms to Amazon's search API (damn you Matt Johnson, with your overly clever band name!).
And so, do you know what I ended up with?
Oh, fuck no! Not Matt Dusk!
(For anyone who doesn't watch more television than is healthy: Matt Dusk performed the theme song, and was a frequent star, on Fox's The Casino, a Mark Burnett show from a season or two ago. It started out as the chronicle of two internet-rich guys who bought The Golden Nugget, and then devolved into some weird once-per-week profile piece about people at the casino doing things like getting married, rather than about the casino itself. And in the process, got a lot less interesting.)
