+1. Preferably in a really big theater, very sparsely populated.

The first time I saw the Godfather Part II was on a big screen in repertory theatre that shall not be named. Let me just say that this theatre is always, always mentioned as one of the top three screens (in terms of bulb brightness, cleanliness, sound quality, etc.) in the city, and it is a major city.

So, you know where this is going. 2/3 of the way through the movie, the print snapped in half. I just walked out, I was so pissed. It was easy to see it on TV, of course, which i did almost immediately, but it was one of those movies I was "saving" for the big screen. It still makes me sad to remember that day.

I like movie theatres when they're crowded. The energy is always amazing if people are into the movie-like being at a rock concert. I've seen two out of the four HP movies first day of release, and that's how it was-total unabashed devotion to everything Harry Potter. The only issue with a crowded theater is sitting close enough to the edge so you don't feel too bad if you have to take a mid-movie bathroom break.

sure, crowded theater for movies like harry potter. but for godfather part ii? i want a huge screen, great sound, with like maybe a dozen people there. where everyone's sitting very far away from one another. no conversation. no community.
