"Holocaust movies always have Jews as victims," he said, plainly exasperated by Hollywood's lack of imagination. "We've seen that story before. I want to see something different. Let's see Germans that are scared of Jews. Let's not have everything build up to a big misery, let's actually take the fun of action-movie cinema and apply it to this situation."
Quentin Tarantino, talking about Inglourious Basterds. I want to see this movie.
We are going to see it Sunday if we can. Looks great!

Every time I see a trailer for a new Tarantino film I think he's lost it and just surrendered to making some hyperviolent gore-fest. But they've been consistently excellent. Death Proof, for example, was amazing.

I think "Death Proof" is one of the most under-rated movies ever made. It got completely dismissive reviews, but I may have liked it more than "Pulp Fiction." The dialogue was never anything other than unique, fresh and amazing, and the car chase stuff was genuinely exciting.
