Probably my favorite song of the 2000s decade.
What's interesting (to me) is that this was released (as a single) only a year and a half after "Pop", and only two and a half years after "Bye Bye Bye" (one of the only videos I remember watching the making of).
And yet "Cry Me a River" feels way, way more recent (not to mention relevant, cf. "Abyss") than either of those.
Yeah, I think it's my pick, too. You can hear in late NSync stuff (especially, to my mind, "Gone") that he was already writing this material. I keep meaning to do a roundup of all the "Cry" derivatives, from his own "What Goes Around..." to Madonna's "Even the Devil..." to Rihanna's "Rehab" etc.

Some other best songs from the 2000s decade include anything by Destiny's Child.

@Abe: "Ignition (Remix)" would be in my top 5, but I think "Cry" is number one, for me.
