What's your favorite drink or cocktail? What's in it?
Question submitted by charm.vox.com
A Sazerac! It's my latest cocktail obsession.
This is the recipe I use. Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of simple syrup (I actually use 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar, because I'm too lazy to make simple syrup)
- 3 - 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 2 ounces Old Overholt (rye whiskey)
- 1/4 teaspoon Herbsaint (anise liqueur)
- Strip of lemon peel
ooh, thanks for the recipe! nice.

Ben, I must admit - that is the last drink I would expect you to like. No offense. But major, major props. As a wannabe cocktail afficionado, I must respect any man who drinks a Sazerac. That is a mean drink. I have had one once at Galatoire's in New Orleans, and didn't take to it.
But perhaps I should revisit it. Maybe we should make it a "drink of the day" for the next Foo Bar?

Byrne: agreed, next Foo Bar it is!
And I'm drinking one right now and it's quite lovely. Unfortunately I'll all out of Old Overholt so I'm using Maker's Mark instead, but it's still very good.
But you've got me curious: what drink would you most expect me to like?

Mojito perhaps? Something "soft" for lack of a better word. But I know better now.
