I found this derivation on mayonnaise interesting though not my personal cup of tea:

I think ranch dressing is when you take mayonnaise to a ranch and leave it out in the sun. Or possibly you make mayonnaise using horse fat.

Nothing like homemade mayonnaise.
We have amazing eggs from our own chickens.
And they are so rich and buttery, that we need to add more oil, or do the whole eggs, or else the mayonnaise just will not get thin and to the right consistency.
I too am not a big fan of mayonnaise, but give me homemade mayonnaise, and I am happy licking it off from my fingers, and lick the spoon clean.

Do you have a favorite recipe now? What kind of oil do you use?

I was the same way. Mayo- gross, but that's because I never had the real thing. Now, if I'm successful at making I find as many things as possible to slather it on. And nothing goes better with a freshly cooked fingerling potato than homemade mayo!
